Luidam’s Dublin Domination!

Whilst I have always known how good Luidam's youngsters were and I have a lot of them myself, so know this as fact, I think this week has seen the start of something very special.

Everywhere I went at Dublin, people were telling me about a nice Luidam they had.

I can’t remember a stallion’s progeny being so dominant ever, at Dublin or any show in the world for that matter.

To confirm Luidam’s emergence as one of the top show jumping sires in the world, the youngstock went on to win the 4 year olds, 5 year olds and Blue Angel, with Kent Farrington flew the flag in the International classes by winning!

The Horse Sport Ireland 4 year old Championship was judged by World No.1 and 2 show jumping riders Scott Brash (GBR) and Ludger Beerbaum (GER) respectively, as well as winning Nations Cup rider Jessica Springsteen.

The class was won by Greg Broderick Riding BP Castlefield (Luidam).

BREEDING:BP Castlefield (ISH) Stallion. Sire: Luidam (KWPN), Dam: Wendoliene (BEWB), Sire of Dam: Darco (BWP), Breeder: Tom Taite, Dublin. Owners: Greg Broderick and Ger O’Neill.

The American riders were on fire in the two biggest classes at Dublin Horse Show on Thursday, as Kent Farrington won the 1.50/1.60 competition against the clock and Jessica Springsteen the 1.50 winning round class. It all started with Farrington who aboard Blue Angel (Luidam x Ascendant) was in a class of his own in the Serpentine Speed Stakes sponsored by TRI Equestrian, and left forty other riders behind him as he a little over half way in the competition set the target time at 64.93 seconds.
