2017 What A Start To The Year!
What an amazing start to the year at the Equestrian.com Liverpool International Horse Show!
I could not of wished for a better start to 2017 winning a class earlier in the week and rounding it of with winning the biggest class of the show the Grand Prix!
My horses were on form all week and felt great.
The show was amazing and certainly does not feel like a second year show, it feels like its always been part of the calander and I look forward to many further visits to Liverpool.
If you have not visited the show you should as its one of the best shows around and I have won every Grand Prix held there!
I would also like to say a big thank you to Equestrian.com for sponsoring the Grand Prix, without sponsors like this our sport would not survive.
The facilities for riders and the general public are second to none and the show is a great family day out.
Ardcolumn Duke's win for his owner Joe Flynn was great.
I was particularly pleased for Diaghilv's (Eric) owners the Payne Family, They have been with me a long time now and have had two big wins in a few weeks which was really nice.
I would just like to take this opportunity to say Happy New Year to everyone and in particular my Owners, Home Team and family of sponsors who help me compete in this sport at the highest level.

Bloomfields horseboxes - the choice of champions.
Billy Twomey is incredibly proud and excited to announce his new partnership with top horse box manufacturer Bloomfields Horseboxes.
Billy chose Bloomfields due to their 'superior build quality and safety over any other similar horseboxes he has seen on the market.'
Billy's Bloomfields professional, built on to one of their chassis partners 'Renault Trucks' master, is purpose built to carry Billy's most precious cargo, as are all of their horseboxes.

La Coruna Longines Grand Prix Win!
I had an amazing weekend which culminated in a 5* win in the Longines Grand Prix at La Curuna.
Diaghilev jumped amazing and deserved the win. He has been knocking on the door for a while.
I am really pleased for his owners (The Payne Family) They bred him and are extremely great owners for me and enjoy every minute of Diaghilev's achievments.

I had a touch of luck at the last fence but we all need a bit of luck from time to time!
I am having a weeknd at home this weekend before heading to Liverpool International after Christmas.
There is some great money on offer there and I am hoping my winning streak continues. I am the returning Grand Prix Champion so no preassure then!
I would just like to thank my long standing family of sponsors and supporters who have been with me for a long time now, which is very much appreciated!

A Great Couple of Weeks!
Billy Twomey completed an incredible five days for Irish riders at the five-star Royal International show at Hickstead in the UK today (Sunday), with victory in the curtain-closing €200,000 Longines King George V Gold Cup.
A thrilling 13 horse jump-off saw Twomey snatch the famous winner’s trophy with the 10-year-old mare Lizziemary. They were last to go against the clock and looking to catch Dutchman Wout-Jan Van Der Schans, who had set what looked an unbeatable time with the gelding Capetown. Incredibly Twomey shaved almost half-a-second off the target to score one of the biggest wins of his career.
A delighted Twomey commented: “It was her [Lizziemary] first time jumping in that ring but she’s done really well. Ordinarily horses need to know that arena, but she’s really brave and has a big rangy gallop that covers the ground, so it suits her. I'm just delighted how the mare performed, I've always felt she’s been knocking on the door but not quite delivered. I’m very proud that she’s managed to win one of the most prestigious classes in the world. I had a good show in Dublin last week where I was the leading rider – there is a lot to be said about when you’ve got your tail up and are full of confidence.
Three Irish riders finished inside the top 10, with Wexford’s Bertram Allen briefly holding the lead with Molly Malone before eventually finishing fourth. Tipperary’s Shane Breen and Golden Hawk maintained the form which saw them finish as runners-up in the Dublin Horse Show Grand Prix and finished ninth at Hickstead. They posted the fastest time of the jump-off but one fence down denied them victory.
Twomey’s Gold Cup win was his fourth of the week at Hickstead, where Ireland’s David Simpson and Elizabeth Power also scored victories, while Robert Spaine’s Irish team finished as runners-up in the Nations Cup on Friday.
I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all of my sponsors who support me week in and week out, to allow me to compete at these great shows. My thanks go to Amerigo, Belmondo, Bloomfields Horse Boxes, Equiline, Connolly's RED MILLS, Cleanround, EuroBale, Equiform, easibed, Flexineb, FMBS Therapy Systems, Haygain, Parlanti Riding Boots, Samshield, Veredus and Zebra Products
